Not only did Adam Jones get a pie in his face for three brilliant plays on defense against the Boston Red Sox last night, he was later recognized by ESPN SportsCenter for having two of the top six plays of the night.
On SportsCenter, his throw from the center field wall to gun down Xander Boegarts at second base in the second inning was at No. 6 of the Top 10 plays.
Jones' all-out diving catch of Mookie Betts' sinking line drive in right-center was the No. 2 play of the day. Jones also robbed Betts in the second inning with a leaping catch of a ball ripped to right-center.
For Jones' efforts, Manny Machado stuck a pie in the Orioles outfielder's face as he did an on-camera interview after the game.
After games, Jones is usually nailing teammates with pies. But Jones has said he would happily accept pies in the face because that means the Orioles won.
