The organization chose this weekend for its anniversary celebration because the Cardinals are in town and the Orioles came to Baltimore from St. Louis, but it was the current Orioles' great timing that stood out the most. Manager Buck Showalter said before the series opener Friday that there was pressure on the Orioles to put on a show for the Orioles Hall of Famers in attendance. They certainly did that, with a strong performance from right-hander Chris Tillman and a season-high six home runs against a shell-shocked Cardinals pitching staff. Two of those home runs were three-run shots, which made you wonder whether the late Earl Weaver was somewhere in the house.
