Beckett's lament is Baltimore's compliment

Red Sox pitcher Josh Beckett said on Sunday that his team had problems in the clubhouse, but his biggest regret was that he didn't pitch better against the Orioles.

Red Sox pitchers Josh Beckett and Jon Lester both addressed last year's clubhouse controversy when the team opened pitcher/catcher workouts in Fort Myers. They took responsibility for their part in the Sox September collapse, but Beckett was more specific about his role, and his comment should be music to the ears of beleaguered Oriolesfans.

"I'm not saying we didn't make mistakes, because we made mistakes in the clubhouse,'' Beckett said, "but the biggest mistake I made was not pitching well against Baltimore."
