Phil: Six more weeks of winter, but not in South Florida

You want a prediction about the weather? I'll give you a prediction. It's going to be cold, it's going to be gray and it's going to last you for the rest of your life.

Er, wait a minute. That's what Phil the weatherman predicted in the movie Groundhog Day.

As for Phil, the groundhog: He's predicting six more weeks of winter.

Meanwhile, South Florida's Thursday forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies with highs in the low 80s, lows in the upper 60s and a 10 percent chance of rain.

As already reported, January was abnormally dry, largely the result of the La Niña pattern. Here's the National Weather Service's postmortem for the month.
