As a nuclear agreement with Iran moves closer to adoption, former state Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher and other veterans met with President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry at the White House on Thursday to discuss their support of the deal.
The president said the veterans know the consequences of war and how the deal can prevent violent conflict.
For Fletcher, the meeting was a discussion about serious foreign policy, but also gave him national exposure. He sat next to Obama while the president made remarks as national media snapped photos and took video.
Many on Twitter took notice. Tweeted Fletcher himself:
"TY @potus @BarackObama & @JohnKerry for your time meeting w veterans in support of the Iran deal today at White House"
