It's last call for Cup hopefuls

Tiger Woods, we know, has eliminated himself from the FedEx Cup postseason. Without a good performance in the Wyndham Championship, a few more prominent names could find themselves on the sideline.

Hall of Famer Ernie Els, Padraig Harrington and Angel Cabrera — winners of a combined eight major championships — were late additions to this week's stop in Greensboro, N.C., in a desperate shot at cracking the top 125 in points for a berth in The Barclays.

And if someone does play well enough, he could knock out No. 125 Camilo Villegas — three years ago the FedEx Cup runner-up.

"I really don't want to miss out on those big events," Els, currently 126th, wrote in his weekly PGATour.com blog. "This really is last-chance saloon, as they say."

Els could get in simply by outperforming Villegas; both have 320 points, but the Colombian holds a tiebreak edge. Harrington (130th) faces only a four-point deficit, while Cabrera (150th) needs a top-eight finish to have any shot.
