Deer Park Elementary to hold events for parents, guardians
Deer Park Elementary School, at 9809 Lyons Mill Road in Owings Mills, is holding events for kindergarten and prekindergarten parents and guardians interested in enrolling their children for the 2015-2016 school year. Both events are by appointment only.
Kindergarten Round-up will be held April 23, and is intended for children born between Sept. 2, 2009 and Sept. 1, 2010. To receive a registration packet and appointment time by mail, call the school office at 410-887-0723 no later than April 17.
Prekindergarten Screening will be held May 21, and is intended for children born between Sept. 2, 2010 and Sept. 1, 2011. To receive a registration packet and appointment time for this event by mail, call the school office at 410-887-0723 no later than May 8.
BCPS Superintendent Dance named among '20 to Watch' educators
Baltimore County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. S. Dallas Dance was recently named among the National School Boards Association's "20 to Watch" educators for 2014-2015.
Dance was recognized as an "emerging leader" and identified by the association as an individual who will help to mold the technological component of the educational sphere for the next 20 years. The group cited his emphasis on technology in the Blueprint 2.0 strategic plan and through S.T.A.T. — Students and Teachers Accessing Tomorrow — an initiative designed to ensure all students have access to digital learning tools, as some of his major technological accomplishments.
