"Hijacking the Runway" by Teri Agins
Agins is the fashion journalist for the Wall Street Journal. She investigates the rise of the celebrity "designer," such as Jessica Simpson and Kanye West, as well as fashion designers like Michael Kors who have marketed themselves to become household names. Both breezy and informative.
"Spark" by John Twelve Hawks
A contract killer develops a real but rare syndrome called Cotard's Syndrome. Basically, he now thinks he's dead, which is making his assignments even easier, as he has no "living" feelings. This thriller has already been optioned as a film. Also available in audiobook and e-book.
"Mr. Hockey" by Gordie Howe
An autobiography of one of the greatest hockey players of all time.
"Lives of Others" by Neel Mukherjee
This saga of five generations of a Calcuttan family was nominated for the Man Booker prize in England.
