"50 Ways to Ruin a Rake" by Jade Lee

Melinda needs a beau. Trevor needs to look like he's "settling down" to get access to his inheritance. So they strike a deal. This book has a fun, contemporary feel. Also available in e-book.

"Exquisite Corpse" by Pénélope Bagieau

Many French graphic novels have been translated into English — this is the latest. When Zoe meets a reclusive author, she becomes his "muse," but what will this relationship do to their real lives?

"Goldeneye: Where Bond Was Born" by Matthew Parker

Ian Fleming's lush Jamaican estate was the site of jet-setting parties, as well as his place to write about James Bond. This novel touches on Fleming's life, British colonialism and the life of the rich and famous in the 1950s.

"The Familiar: One Rainy Day in May" by Mark Z. Danielewski

Cult favorite author Danielewski — "House of Leaves" — returns with this first in a 27-volume series. Twelve-year-old Xanther and her stepfather set out to get a dog, but from there, the 800-page story unspools in many different directions.
