John Wilkes Booth, a presidential assassin with Maryland ties, is given a full-length biography of his own in this book.

"Wicked Stitch" by Amanda Lee

This cozy mystery begins when embroidery crafter Marcy is given a booth at the Renaissance Faire and one of her crafting enemies is found dead.

"Sisters of Heart and Snow" by Margaret Dilloway

Dysfunctional family features in this novel with two sisters who barely speak, a domineering father and a mother who was a mail-order bride from Japan and is succumbing from dementia. When the mother becomes obsessed with finding a book about a female samurai she saved for her daughters, many of the family's questions are answered. Also available in audiobook.
