This week, Rachael Abrams, a parent outreach specialist at Jewish Community Services, will present a lecture on how to strike a perfect balance between protecting your child and giving them their independence. The program is presented in collaboration with JCS.

Saturday, July 2: "Family Fun at the Movies." For school-age children. Share some downtime and enjoy the movie "Finding Nemo," rated G, at 2 p.m.

Tuesday, July 5: "Baby Story Time." Connect with your baby through stories, rhymes, bounces and songs, followed by a play time, at 10 and 11 a.m. Registration is required.

"First Tuesday Book Club." For adults. Join the library for a lively discussion of "At the Water's Edge," by Sara Gruen, at 7 p.m.

Wednesday, July 6: "Wednesdays at 7: Game Night." For adults. Join the library every Wednesday this summer at 7 p.m. for this program for adults. This week, participants will be playing board games.

Thursday, July 7: "Preschool Story Time." Interact with your preschooler by enjoying stories, songs and activities at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.

"Lego Fun." For ages 6 to 12 years old; children younger than 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Create with Lego blocks at 2 p.m. All supplies will be provided, but registration is required.

"Small Wonders." For grades K-5. Stop by the Small Wonders table in the Nano exhibit at 2 p.m. to participate in fun, hands-on experiments, demonstrations and crafts, while learning more about nanoscience and technology. Presented by Port Discovery Children's Museum.
