Cromwell Valley Park to hold events

Cromwell Valley Park at 2002 Cromwell Bridge Road in Baltimore will hold September Bird Walks, during which birding volunteer Jim Meyers will lead a group to watch for migrating birds. The walks will be held from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6 and 20. Reservations are not required and the walks are free. Those interested in participating should meet at the Willow Grove Farm Parking Lot.


Cromwell Valley Park is also holding an educational program titled Building an Earth Oven for individuals 18 and older. During the program, participants will learn how to make baked goods in wood-fired, retained ovens. The event will be held at the Willow Grove Education Nature Center from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6. Cost for participation is $5 for members and $7 for non-members.

Community Crisis Center to hold raffle, yard sale

The Community Crisis Center Inc., located at 725 Main St. in Reisterstown, is selling raffle tickets for a crab basket, which includes a $250 gift certificate to Parks Landing in Westminster. The Community Crisis Center Inc. is also holding its second annual yard sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6. Vendor spaces are available. Chamber to hold Fall Crawl and Business Expo

The Reisterstown-Owings Mills-Glyndon Chamber of Commerce will host Fall Crawl and Business Expo from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20. During the event, the public will be able to visit local retailers along Main Street in Reisterstown and then attend an expo showcasing Main Street businesses at the Reisterstown United Methodist Church at 246 Main St. There will be music and raffles for those who visit the retail shops. Baltimore County hosts Restaurant Week

The Baltimore County Office of Tourism and Promotion, the Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce, and Sysco are presenting Baltimore County Restaurant Week. The event, which will run from Aug. 8 to 24, will feature 64 restaurants. During the event, participating restaurants from across Baltimore County will offer special menus at discounted, fixed prices.
