CCBC to hold events
The Community College of Baltimore County will hold its 2014 Alumni Association Crab Feast from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Sept. 27. The event, which will be held at Martin's East on 9000 Pulaski Highway, is being held to raise funds for student scholarships and programs. The buffet will include unlimited steamed crabs, roast sirloin of beef, pasta primavera, beef barbecue and salads. The event is open to the public. CCBC Essex will hold a pop student recital at 12:20 p.m. Oct. 4. The concert will be held in the Recital Hall in Arts and Humanities Hall at the Essex Campus on 7201 Rossville Blvd. The event is free and open to the public. No tickets are required.
Cromwell Valley Park to host events
Cromwell Valley Park is offering a 10-week Maryland Master Naturalist Training course. The classes will run from Sept. 20 to Nov. 22. Training will be led by naturalists and educators, and topics will range from botany to ornithology. Cost is $250 and attendance is limited to 25 participants over 18 years old. Cromwell Valley Park will hold Drop in Gardening for people ages 13 and older from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 27, Oct. 25 and Nov. 1. Participants will work in the Children's Garden. Reisterstown Corn Roast Festival to be held
The 9th annual Reisterstown Corn Roast Festival will be held from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 4. It will take place at Farmer Tom's at 427 Cockeys Mill Road in Reisterstown. Activities will include corn eating contests, hay rides, pony rides and a car and truck show. Admission is free, and food and beverages will be available for purchase. Baltimore County to hold tree sale
Baltimore County's Department of Environmental Protection and Sustainability (EPS) will host its 10th bi-annual Big Trees Sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 18. The sale, which is intended to encourage people to plant trees in their yards, will be held at the Baltimore County Center for Maryland Agriculture and Farm Park at 1114 Shawan Road in Cockeysville. Trees vary in cost from $15 to $30 depending upon species and height. Payment will be accepted in the form of cash or check only. The number of trees for this sale is limited to 360. Individuals who are not from Baltimore County may only purchase up to two trees per household. Prospective buyers are encouraged to order as soon as possible in order to take advantage of the most available trees. CHA to hold crab feast
The Chartley Homeowners Association will hold its 3rd annual crab feast from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 20. The event will be held at the American Legion Post 116 in Reisterstown.
