Reisterstown to celebrate National Night Out
Reisterstown will celebrate National Night Out in the Chartley Park Shopping Center, 106 Chartley Dr. from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 4. The national event was designed more than 30 years ago to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness and to generate support and participation in local anti-crime programs. The Reisterstown celebration has been expanded to include demonstrations and displays in safety, emergency preparedness, health, environmental and community activities. This year's event will feature the county's mobile command center, a BGE high voltage safety demonstration, a self-defense demonstration, and more.
The Oriole Bird, the Chick-Fil-A cow, and McGruff the Crime Dog from Precinct 3 will be in attendance. There will be games for toddlers and adults, story time by the Reisterstown branch of the Baltimore County Public Library, and a children's play area by the Kiwanis Club. Free chicken nuggets, to the first 300 registrants, cold beverages and snowballs will be available. Admission is free and parking is available nearby.
National Night Out is sponsored by the Chartley Homeowners, Country Club Estates Community and Reisterstown Improvement Associations.
