Randallstown library to host program for Black History Month

The Randallstown branch of the Baltimore County Public Library, at 8604 Liberty Road, will host a Black History Month program from 1 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 19. At 1:30 p.m., a librarian will give a presentation about several noteworthy African-American scientists. At 2:30 p.m., a lecture will be held about African-American music. At 3:30 p.m., the subject of African-American art will be discussed. At 4:30 p.m., there will be a special appearance by picture book author Jerdine Nolen. This will be followed by a presentation on African-American autobiographies at 5:30 p.m. Finally, at 6:30 p.m., Randallstown resident Ruthie Bethea-Sholly will deliver a presentation about Freedman's Village. Student recital to be held

The Community College of Baltimore County will hold a student recital as part of its Friday Music Forum at 12:20 p.m. Feb. 27. The event will be held in the Arts and Humanities recital hall at CCBC Essex at 7201 Rossville Blvd. in Baltimore. As part of the recital, applied music students will perform selections from a range of musical styles. The event is free. No tickets or reservations are needed.

CCBC Dundalk to host dental outreach program

The Community College of Baltimore County and the Maryland Dental Hygienists' Association are sponsoring Sealant Saturday, a community outreach program, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 28. As part of the event, which will take place in the Dental Arts Center of CCBC Dundalk at 7200 Sollers Point Road, children ages 6 to 18 will be provided clear, colorless, protective coatings on their permanent molar teeth to help prevent tooth decay. Each child must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. The program is free, but appointments are required. ROMG chamber to host lunch and learn event

The Reisterstown/Owings Mills/Glyndon Chamber of Commerce is holding a lunch and learn event from noon to 1:30 p.m. March 3. The event, which is titled "20 Commandments to Unlimited Prosperity," will feature Mark Luterman, CEO of the Small Business Secret Weapon Company. It will take place at Reisterstown Family Chiropractic at 410 Main St. in Reisterstown. Lunch will be provided. It is free for ROMG chamber members and $5 for guests.
