Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz today announced he will formally support Connie DeJuliis in her bid for state Senate.
DeJuliis is challenging Sen. Jim Brochin of Towson in the Democratic primary for District 42.
"As a small business owner and longtime advocate for safer neighborhoods, Connie will be a true leader for the people of the 42nd District," Kamenetz said in a statement. "I've known Connie for over 30 years and I'm confident that she will always put of the needs of her constituents ahead of her own personal ambitions."
Kamenetz also endorsed County Councilwoman Cathy Bevins, a Middle River Democrat who is seeking a second term in the county's 6th District. Bevins faces a primary challenge from Jeff Beard, also of Middle River.
"Cathy is a great asset to the people of the 6th District and has been a partner to the significant progress Baltimore County has made in public education, public safety, and rebuilding our aging infrastructure," Kamenetz said.
