President Barack Obama is planning to visit Fort McHenry on Friday during the 200th anniversary celebration of the Battle of Baltimore, sources with knowledge of the event said Wednesday.

Obama is planning to take a private tour of the fort before attending a previously scheduled fundraiser in Baltimore County, the sources said. It is not clear whether he will make a public appearance.

The White House did not confirm a presidential visit to Fort McHenry.

Officials said earlier this week that Vice President Joe Biden would speak at a concert at the fort on Saturday night as part of the Star-Spangled 200 celebration.
