Gov. Larry Hogan plans to check back into the hospital on Sunday for a second round of chemotherapy treatment for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
"I'm just hopeful it will go as easy as the first one. I understand it gets tougher as you go along," Hogan said Friday morning.
During his first round of 24-hour chemotherapy that lasted five days, Hogan worked from his hospital room. Lt. Gov. Boyd Rutherford filled in for the governor for some official duties and public appearances.
Hogan expects the logistics to work the same this time.
"I'll be in for four or five days, have some fun in the hospital, knock out some work and get back to the grind again," he said.
The governor thanked Marylanders for their support ever since he announced in June that he was diagnosed with Stage 3 non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
"I'm very grateful for all of the outpouring of support and prayers and love," he said.
There have been several prayer rallies in support of the governor and lime green wristbands -- the signature color for the disease -- have been popping up on Marylanders' wrists. Hogan frequently wears a lime green ribbon lapel pin.
Hogan's political organization, Change Maryland, launched the Hoganstrong.com website to sell wristbands and other merchandise with the "Hogan Strong" motto. The proceeds benefit cancer- and health-related charities.
