The number of people voting early has slowed after an early surge in the first couple days, according to Maryland Elections data.
In the first two days of early voting in Maryland, 122,880 people voted Thursday and 123,020 people voted Friday. In 2012, by comparison, just 134,256 people voted in the first two days of early voting.
But during the weekend, the number of people turning out to early vote slowed. About 80,000 voted early on Saturday and nearly 76,000 voted early on Sunday.
Early voting was expanded this year from five days to eight. You can vote from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. through Nov. 3 at select polling places around the state. And despite the slowdown, the number of people voting early in the first four days – 402,021 – tops the number of people who voted early in the first four days in 2012 – 323,188.
More than 430,000 people voted early in Maryland in 2012.
