Carson to announce whether he'll run for president next month

In a week of 2016 presidential hopefuls weighing and announcing their candidacies, Dr. Ben Carson is keeping his name in the conversation.

The former Johns Hopkins pediatric neurosurgeon said in a post on Facebook Monday that he will return to his hometown of Detroit next month to announce whether he will seek the Republican nomination.

Democratic front-runner Hillary Rodham Clinton, the former Secretary of State and First Lady, announced Sunday she would run. Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, a Republican, followed by kicking off his campaign on Monday.

Republican Sen. Rand Paul, of Kentucky, rolled out his campaign last week.

Former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley, a Democrat who has expressed interest in running for president, will announce his decision about whether to run for president by late May, an aide said April 10.
