Maryland attorney April Doss will work on Senate Russia probe

Former National Security Agency lawyer and Marylander April Doss has been hired to serve as special counsel to the Senate Intelligence Committee’s investigation into Russia’s involvement in the 2016 election, her law firm said Wednesday.

Doss, an Annapolis woman who spent more than a decade at the NSA, will be senior counsel for the Democrats on the probe. Some Democrats have voiced frustration at pace of that investigation.

Doss, currently the chair of the cybersecurity and privacy practice at Saul Ewing, described the investigation’s work as “critically important.” Saul Ewing is headquartered in Philadelphia and has offices in Baltimore, Washington and elsewhere.
