Texas Gov. Rick Perry is scheduled visit to Maryland next week to hold private meetings with companies and possibly host a reception, his press office said Thursday.
Perry's radio and TV advertisements bashing Maryland's business climate and Gov. Martin O'Malley began airing here today, a nearly $500,000 media buy that serves as a prelude to Perry's visit to Maryland Sept. 18.
The Republican governor, considered a potential 2016 presidential contender, has used a similar one-two punch of media buys and personal visits in other Democratic leaning states, including New York, Connecticut and California.
In the Maryland ads, Perry criticizes the state's tax climate and O'Malley personally for fees and taxes increased under O'Malley's tenure.
