Republican presidential candidate Rand Paul, who captured national attention last week by helping to scuttle legislation reauthorizing bulk data collection by the National Security Agency, will speak to Baltimore County Republicans next month.
The Kentucky senator will attend a fundraiser for the county GOP on June 9 at Martin's West, according to an invitation. Individual tickets to the event will run from $75 to $225 -- with the higher priced ticket buying participants an additional reception with Paul and an autographed copy of his new book.
Paul has made several appearances in deeply Democratic Maryland in recent months. He spoke most recently in the state on criminal justice issues at Bowie State University in March.
