A gunman shot U.S. Rep Steve Scalise and others at a congressional baseball practice outside of Washington Wednesday morning.

Scalise, a Louisiana Republican, was among several people wounded by the shooter. The gunman, identified as James T. Hodgkinson, was shot in a gunbattle with police and later died.
