Hogan plans 'thank you tour'

Gov.-elect Larry Hogan will begin a statewide "thank you tour" Tuesday with a Veterans Day parade in St. Mary's County, his campaign announced.

Hogan, the first Republican elected statewide since 2002, has not made a public appearance since the day after his upset victory last week. While the parade will be his only stop on the tour Tuesday, Hogan said in a statement he plans to visit every jurisdiction in the state.

“We’re starting in St. Mary’s County, which is located at the southernmost tip of Maryland on the Western shore of the Chesapeake Bay, and working our way up and out to the farthest reaches of our great state to thank voters,” Hogan's statement said.  Several other Republican elected officials, who are veterans, will march in the 10 a.m. parade in Leonardtown alongside Hogan.

As a candidate, Hogan made a point of touring all Maryland jurisdictions in his campaign bus, emblazoned with his "Change Maryland" logo.

Now, the bus also has the message "THANK YOU" stamped in large red letters, according to a photo the campaign posted on Facebook Sunday afternoon.
