Three leading candidates are seeking the Democratic nomination for Baltimore County executive: county Councilwoman Vicki Almond, state Sen. Jim Brochin of Cockeysville and former state Del. Johnny Olszewski Jr. Two Republicans are seeking their party's nomination: Del. Pat McDonough and insurance commissioner Al Redmer Jr.

Baltimore County Councilwoman Vicki Almond of Reisterstown is one of the three leading Democratic candidates running for Baltimore County executive.

As Al Redmer Jr. approached voters at a festival in Towson, he handed each a glossy flyer that featured a familiar face. Many smiled when they saw the photo of Gov. Larry Hogan. “I think the governor’s doing a great job,” one man told Redmer.

The way state Del. Pat McDonough sees it, Baltimore County is a runaway train going off a bridge.

Johnny Olszewski Jr., a former state delegate from Dundalk, is one of three leading candidates for the Democratic nomination for Baltimore County executive.

Jim Brochin is one of the three leading Democratic candidates for Baltimore County executive in the 2018 election.
