On Dec. 14, dozens of Howard County residents gathered outside the George Howard building in Ellicott City to protest against Ho.Co. 10-23, a bill that would add two appointed members to the county's school board. Council members Liz Walsh, Deb Jung and David Yungmann spoke at the rally and urged the Howard County Delegation not to dilute the will of voters at a time when most Maryland school boards have moved towards all-elected models.
