Across the U.S. and Canada, locked in a deep freeze

Brutal winter weather that's brought subzero temperatures to parts of the U.S. is threatening to dump snow and ice across parts of the South that rarely see flurries, much less accumulation.

The storm is expected to bring several inches of snow to the Eastern Shore and Southern Maryland this week, and forecasters have “increasing confidence” of some snow accumulations in the Baltimore area Wednesday into Thursday.
