Amy Porter and Timothy Reid
Linda and Jim Porter, of Herdon, Va., announce the engagement of their daughter, Amy Lenore Porter, to Timothy Warren Reid, son of Donna and Dick Reid, of Towson.
The bride-to-be is a graduate of Oakton High School, in Vienna, Va.; and James Madison University, in Harrisonburg, Va., where she earned a bachelor's degree in business administration; and George Mason University, in Fairfax, Va., where she earned a master's degree in secondary education.
She is currently employed as an English teacher in Charlottesville, Va.
The future groom is a graduate St. Paul's School for Boys; Harvard University, in Cambridge, Mass., where he earned a bachelor's degree in history; and a prospective 2012 graduate of the University of Viriginia, where he is slated to earn a master's of business administration.
He is interning this summer with J.P. Morgan, in New York City, N.Y.
A wedding is planned for Aug. 6, in Charlottesville, Va.
