Two of Lutherville's churches have welcomed new ministers this summer.
The Rev. Veronica Webber will join GraceEnglish Evangelical Lutheran Church later this month, and the Rev. Christopher Tang has already taken the reins at the Church of the Holy Comforter.
The Rev. Tang was installed as third rector of the Church of the Holy Comforter on June 7, as parishioners gathered at the church for the ceremony.
Tang, who has two sons, served at St. Georges Church in Hampstead for 15 years before coming to Holy Comforter.
The Rev. Joseph Rushton had been serving as interim pastor for the last year.
Meanwhile, Grace Lutheran Church's new pastor, the Rev. Webber, is a 2011 graduate of Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minn., and will be ordained this Sunday, Aug. 7, at her home church, Zion Lutheran inMiddletown.
Webber will begin her duties at Grace English on Aug. 15.
During her time in the seminary, she spent time abroad in Israel, Palestine, Mexico, Haiti and, more recently, in the United Kingdom.
Webber completed her yearlong Evangelical Lutheran Church in America internship requirement at Advent Lutheran Church in Boca Raton, Fla. Apart from her religious service, she has also served as the assistant camp director for Camp Potomac Woods, the largest Girl Scout camp in the Nation's Capital.
Welcome to Tang and Webber. I'm sure we'll be seeing you both often as you get to know Lutherville.
The Lutherville-Timonium Recreation Council's Brush Up Camp still has a few openings in both of its two-week run, and so does Algebra Camp. Both are held at Ridgely Middle School, 121 Ridgely Road, Lutherville.
Brush-Up Camp is for students entering grades five, six or seven, and helps students prepare for school by reviewing math and written language skills. There are two sessions, the first the week of Aug. 8-12, and the second Aug. 15-19, and run from 9 to 11:30 a.m.
Algebra Camp is for those taking Algebra I in the fall, and is Aug. 15-19 only, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Also, the LTRC Cooperative Tots program has a few openings in the 4-year-old afternoon program, which meets Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at Pinewood Elementary School. The program has been in existence for more than 30 years — all three of my children attended the co-op in the early 1980s, and my grandson has just completed two years this May.
The "cooperative" part of the co-op is what makes it unique, as parents have the opportunity to observe and participate in their child's first school experience. Parents are an integral part of the program, and assist teachers in the classroom on a rotating basis throughout the school year.
To learn more about the program and to register, contact Heather White at 410-561-0694 or ltrccoop@yahoo.com.
