The Lutherville-Timonium Junior A boys topped the Maryland Lacrosse Club, 7-6, for the Maryland Youth Lacrosse Association title at Roland Park Country School on June 4.
Lutherville trailed, 6-4, entering the fourth quarter until attackman Peter Jacobson knotted the score on a feed from Ryan Conrad — who eventually scored the winning goal. Jacobson, Timmy Kelly (2 goals), Conrad (2 goals, 1 assist) and Jack Lombardo (2 goals) accounted for all the scoring.
The victory advanced LTRC to the state playoffs in Howard County at the Western Regional Park in Woodbine on June 9 when the MYLA champs routed the Kent Island Storm, 12-7.
Kelly (5 goals, 1 assist) led an attack that also featured Ted Kasper, Jacobson, and Garrett Michel while midfielder Luke Ciccarone led off the scoring with a goal.
Conrad ( 3 goals 4 assists) and Jack Lombardo (3 goals, 1 assist) dominated from the midfield as well with help from Peyton Bozel, Ben Bittner, Patrick Karey, and Patrick Lagator.
A strong defense, led by Macguire Hayes, Collin Llewellyn, Colin Shawyer, Chase Lubke, Zach Hoelting, Mac Evander, and Grant Gilmore in front of goalie Brody Bartell, held the Storm to two goals in the second half.
