Crime Log: York Road businesses burglarized

The following is compiled from police reports from the Towson and Cockeysville precincts. Our policy is to include descriptions when there is enough information to make identification possible.

Cockeysville

Coins were stolen from laundry room machines at three Cockeysville apartment complexes Dec. 10 and Dec. 12 in the 500 block of Lake Vista Circle, unit block of Breezy Tree Court and unit block of Breezy Branch Court.

Nutmeg Knoll Court, unit block, between June 18 and Dec. 18 at 10:41 a.m. Christmas decorations, DVDs, VHS tapes and food processor stolen from storage shed after lock was broken.

A man who called police to say he had been robbed at gunpoint later confessed that a gun was pointed at him during a drug deal. The 25-year-old Owings Mills man initially told police two men robbed him in Seasons Pizza parking lot in the 10000 block of York Road at 5:09 p.m. Dec. 17.He later said that he had arranged to meet the men to sell them two pounds of marijuana. He said the men took the marijuana, pointed a gun at him, and took off in a gray Honda Civic without paying for the drugs.

Timonium

North Charles Street and Bellona Avenue, between 3 p.m. Dec. 12 and 7 a.m. Dec. 13. Hole cut in metal storage trailer at North Charles Street bridge construction site, but nothing taken.

Providence Road, 1400 block, between 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Dec. 13. Power washer stolen from yard.

Hartfell Road, 2400 block, between 6:30 p.m. Dec. 14 and 8:30 a.m. Dec. 15. Tool bag, cash, check and sunglasses stolen from unlocked car.

Pot Spring Road, 2500 block, between 5 p.m. Dec. 7 and 6:40 p.m. Dec. 9. Jewelry stolen from unit at Mercy Ridge Retirement Community.

Four offices in the 1600 block of York Road were broken into and attempt was made on a fifth office between 5 p.m. Dec. 16 and 1:35 p.m. Dec. 17. Entry was by destroying mail slot and prying front office door open.A laptop computer, liquor and cash were taken from Corridor Mortgage Group. Cash and a drill were taken from Craftmaster Remodeling. A laptop computer was taken from Granite Tile Associates. It is unknown if anything was taken from Direct Media. The attempt to break into BrightStar Healthcare was unsuccessful.

Towson

Campus View Drive, 2:10 a.m. Dec. 8. Man assaulted and robbed by four to five college-aged males and one college-aged female. Man suffered broken ankle. Assailants stole $40.

Roxleigh Road, 1000 block, between 9 a.m. and 3:02 p.m. Dec. 13. Jewelry, video games and replica DEA badge stolen. A juvenile, an acquaintance of homeowner's son, knew where house key was hidden. He was arrested and items recovered.
