With every game this month, Loch Raven is putting a terrible December (0-5) further behind it.

The Raiders won their fourth in five games with a 68-37 victory over visiting Overlea Wednesday night.

Ten Loch Raven players scored, led by 5-foot-5 senior guard Kayla Toole's 21 points. She added seven rebounds and three steals.

"She is our primary scorer," Loch Raven coach Allyson Sieka said of a player is averaging 20.4 points points per game. "When can light up the three and she does it so many times, it gives us a spark."

Toole did just that for the Raiders (4-6) late in the first quarter. With the game tied 8-8, she sank three treys in a span of 1:46 to lead a 12-0 run and put Loch Raven ahead, 20-8.

The Raiders opened the second quarter with an 11-4 spurt to boost their lead to 31-14.

Loch Raven started quickly again in the third quarter, going on a 16-3 run to push its margin to 19 points. Sophomore Jessica Carpenter, starting her first game of the season, had nine points during that stretch and finished with 13.

"Her shooting tonight was exquisite," Sieka said. "I've never seen her shoot the basketball like that. She is finally shooting the ball like she does in practice"

Senior guard Christie Moyer (10 points) also scored in double figures for the winners. Khya Bryant led Overlea (1-9) with 13 points.
