Shad Roe comes hard and heavy with his week-two predictions

Well, 6-2 is not a bad way to start the year. A perfect week would have been a big feather in the cap for this fabulous football mind, but I'll take it. Here's what we've got cooking in week-two action this evening (Friday), and what I have to say about it:

Bo Manor at Aberdeen. I left my cave on the shore of the Susquehanna last Friday night just to watch the Aberdeen squad play its first game under longtime River City skipper Johnny Brooks, and I must say, the Eagles were impressive. If they combine their air and ground games as well as they did in last week's 31-point victory, they should have no problems rolling over Bo Manor. The pick: Aberdeen takes it, 34-20.

Perryville at Havre de Grace. The Susky Bowl is here again, and this time the Warriors are hosting. The two teams' week-one results could not have been more different, as the Warriors eked out a one-point victory over Elkton, while Perryville thrashed Kent, 53-8. It's a tough one, but I'm going with the Panthers to walk away winners. The pick: Perryville tops Havre de Grace, 18-14.

Joppatowne at North East. The Mariners should have no problems with those Indians from Cecil County. The pick: Joppatowne wins, 34-7.

Edgewood at Fallston. Another tough one, but I'm tapping the Cougars in this one. The pick: Fallston over Edgewood, 21-19.

Bel Air at Elkton. The Bobcats won big last week, dropping National Academy, 45-0. Can they come with the firepower again tonight? I'm betting yes. The pick: Bel Air wins, 24-21.

C. Milton Wright at Patterson Mill. In another surprising result, CMW beat Rising Sun, 40-19, while Patterson Mill dropped Chesapeake-BC, 21-14. This week, I'll take the Mustangs, as the Huskies might be without their starting quarterback. The pick: CMW over Patterson Mill, 28-18.

Rising Sun at North Harford. The Hawks have this one in the bag. The pick: North Harford wins, 45-13.

Tower Hill School at Harford Tech. The pick: Tech wins, 14-12.

Last week's record, 6-2

Shad's all-time record, 1697-668

71.8 percent
