Bainbridge hosts reunion in D.C., museum open weekends [Port Deposit]

The Maryland Fireman's Convention will be held this coming week at the Convention Center in Ocean City. A parade, meetings, equipment displays, vendors, the memorial service and a fundraising bingo are scheduled throughout the week.

The 2013 Bainbridge PAMI-CONUS Reunion was held from June 6 through 9 in Washington, D.C., and amazingly, I worked in PAMI-CONUS at Bainbridge during the summer between my junior and senior years at Perryville High School. I worked in the Document Control room, processing the computer reports that were generated by the huge reel-to-reel "computers" that filled the second floor of the brick PAMI-CONUS building.


Julie Robichaud, North East, enjoyed birthday greetings on June 9 as did Harford County friend, Teresa Martin, of Havre de Grace.

Congratulations and best wishes to Suzie and Harvey Cunningham, North Main Street, as they celebrated 25 years of marriage on June 10.


Heather Flayhart, Aberdeen, celebrated her big day on June 10. Happy birthday to Walter Andrews, Havre de Grace, as he blew out his candles on June 11.

The committee and team captains of this year's Relay for Life met for a wrap-up-meeting and covered dish dinner at Elkton High School on Tuesday, June 11. As of this printing, the teams had raised over $122,000.

Evelyn Love, North Main Street, subtracted a year from her age on June 12. And Joanne Pontown celebrated her birthday on June 14.

The County Wide Ladies Auxiliary met for their quarterly dinner meeting on Wednesday, June 12 at the Perryville Fire Hall, sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary to the Community Fire Company of Perryville.

Patricia Hayden, Port, attended "Girls Night Out" at Sandy Cove Ministries, North East, with her daughters and friends on Thursday, June 13.

The American Legion Post 194 will sponsor its annual Father's Day Bull Roast on Sunday, June 16, "rain or shine." The menu includes pit beef, pit ham, barbecue chicken, corn, hot dogs and lots of fixins. Food will be served from 1 to 5 p.m. and music will be provided from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Ticket prices are $20 for adults and $10 for children under 12. The legion is located at 338 E. The Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW Post 8185 will entertain the Perry Point veterans on Sunday, June 16 at the post home, 520 Susquehanna River Road.

Principio Methodist Church will sponsor a "Luncheon and Card Party" on Thursday, June 20 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Cost is $10 per person. Please call Barbara, 443-350-7861, to make a reservation by June 18.


The Paw Paw Museum, sponsored by the Port Deposit Heritage Corp. at 98 N. Main St., will be open on June 23 from 1 to 5 p.m. The Bainbridge Museum continues to open every weekend from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays until December at 6 S. Main St. (the old Bank Building).
