Man stabbed in Havre de Grace

A Havre de Grace man is in critical condition after being stabbed in the city early Wednesday morning, Havre de Grace police department said.

Jamar Terell Niles Coleman, 22, of the 400 block of Battery Drive, was found bleeding in the 300 block of South Union Avenue at 2 a.m. Wednesday.

They found Coleman who had sustained a stab wound to the neck and lacerations to his arm.

The victim was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore. He was still listed in critical condition as of Wednesday afternoon, Officer Jeff Gilpin said.

While the incident is similar to another stabbing in the city on Sept. 16, it is believed to be an isolated incident and not related in any way, Gilpin said.

"Due to the condition of the victim when officers arrived, we were unable to get very much information about the suspect or circumstances," Gilpin wrote in an email Wednesday morning. "We have only a couple of leads at this time, but nothing new has developed."
