Havre de Grace is gearing up for another election, which will throw three city council seats into question.
Voting is set for May 3, and candidates can file to run between March 6 and 20, at city hall between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The three seats up for re-election this year are those occupied by Fred Cullum, Bill Martin and Jim Miller.
The last day for candidates to withdraw is April 3.
The last day for voters to register is April 17.
Candidates must pay a $50 filing fee, be at least 25, be a U.S. citizen for at least 10 years before the election, be a qualified voter and be a Havre de Grace resident for at least two years before the election.
The election is set to have one newcomer, David Glenn, and two of the three incumbents have said they would also run.
Glenn wrote in an e-mail he looks forward to serving the city.
"I look forward to the opportunity to join the team, but recognize that elections can often be unpredictable," he wrote.
Cullum said he "certainly" plans to run again. This would give him his ninth two-year term in office.
He said he had not heard from anyone else who plans to run, but noted it is still early.
"People might not make their intentions known until later," he said.
Miller also said he plans to file, and spoke with city spokesman Jim Newby about picking up the paperwork.
"I don't know anybody else that's planning on running," Miller said. "I haven't talked to the other two incumbents."
Council President Martin said he still needs to speak with his wife to confirm that he will seek re-election.
"I am not going to do it unless she is 100 percent on board," he said. "Put me down for 'probably.'"
"For the last four years I have been on the council, I have been honored to serve," he said, explaining being a councilman "takes a toll on your family."
"I will tell you straight up, I couldn't do this without my wife's support," Martin said, but added, "I do enjoy serving."
