Someone broke into at least eight cars in the gated Bulle Rock community and the adjacent Bayview neighborhood in Havre de Grace early Thursday morning, Havre de Grace police said.
"None of the vehicles appear to have been locked," Officer Jeff Gilpin, spokesman for the Havre de Grace Police Department, said.
Police were still investigating and interviewing possible witnesses by mid-morning Thursday, he said.
The first break-in was reported at 4:50 a.m. in the 500 block of Ferdinand Drive, where a cell phone was stolen.
By about 7 a.m., a laptop and two GPS systems were also reported stolen from three cars in the 300 block of Summer Squall Court.
A GPS system was also stolen in the 300 block of Master Derby Road. A second car on Master Derby Road was also entered, but nothing was stolen.
Two more vehicles in the 300 block of Willow Way, in the Bayview development that abuts the east side of Bulle Rock, were also reported broken into as of about 9 a.m.
Bulle Rock, off of Route 40, is gated and has its own security force.
