Havre de Grace Main Street held the fifth Graw Days Oct. 13. Between the arrival and departure of guests at the B&B, I was able to venture through the festival. Many were familiar faces: Darlene Perry at the Havre de Grace Maritime Museum table, Pat Fair at the Arts by the Bay Gallery booth, organizer Bill Price scooting through in his golf cart, Tom Fitzpatrick hurrying a money box to a booth, Bill Watson in costume at the Speakeasy, Steve Formwalt at Simplicity Antiques Boutique and Simply Grand Events, Ellie Mencer behind the counter at Doodad's boutique and Scott Wallace at the Wonder Toys Store booth. Thanks to Kathy Keen, Judy Plitt, Frank Roth, Melvin Wolinski, Bob Greene and Ellen Eltgroth for manning the Havre de Grace Historic Preservation Commission booth. I enjoyed a hot dog from the girls at St. John's Episcopal Church and cookies from the ladies at the bake sale there. With wonderful, clear weather, the event was a delight for residents, tourists and families, and the speakeasy and fun continued far into Saturday night.

If you missed the opportunity at Graw Days, Mary Boehly informed me that the Havre de Grace Arts Commission's Graw Days ceramic horse medallions (Christmas ornaments) are available at the Havre de Grace Visitor Center, 410-939-2100, for purchase. The $10 2012 medallion features "War Admiral." Past medallions are $15 each.

Additionally, look for the raffle of the Havre de Grace police child's pedal car. Tickets are $5, available at the visitor center. The drawing is Dec. 7.

Happy birthday to Caleb Hartsfield and Tara Werkheiser (Oct. 28) and oops! Wanda Schaffer (Oct. 21).
