One couple's wedding in Havre de Grace over the weekend was spoiled by a thief who made off with a box of cash-filled envelopes during the reception.
The couple was celebrating with a reception at about 1 p.m. on Saturday outside the Havre de Grace Decoy Museum, in the 100 block of Lafayette Street, when an unknown woman emptied a chest of cards filled with cash for the newlyweds, Ofc. Jeff Gilpin of Havre de Grace Police Department said.
Police are still looking for the thief, who is described as a white woman with curly blonde hair, wearing a white tank top and shorts or Capri pants.
"It ruined their whole wedding," Gilpin said Tuesday. "It's a shame that these folks' wedding had to be interrupted by someone with selfish needs."
