Aberdeen pharmacy robbed at gunpoint

A man used a gun to rob a Rite Aid in downtown Aberdeen ofOxycontin Tuesday night, continuing the trend of local pharmacies falling victim to prescription drug thefts.

At about 8:38 p.m., the man entered the pharmacy, at 15 W. Bel Air Ave., and waited for all customers to leave before going up to an employee, displaying a handgun and demanding Oxycontin.

After getting a number of pills, he fled the store through a rear door toward Howard Street.

The suspect is described as black, 40 to 50 years old, with a gray beard and about 5 feet 10 inches tall. He wore a blue, button-down shirt with paint on it.
