Dream Team coach Rick Faby was warned that it was going to be difficult to compete in the Presidents Cup Lightning indoor tournament for 9-10 girls in Hampstead.

As it turned out, their rivals in the tourney were the ones to be fearful of the Dream Team — a group of Lutherville and Reisterstown neighborhood friends coached by Faby and Dan Hammerschlag.

The Dream Team waltzed through the tourney bracket, steamrolling Valley Girls, Red Shirts, Valley Girls 2 and South Carroll before beating Severna Park's Flash, 8-4, in the championship.

Playing behind Riderwood Elementary School students and top defenders Peyton Woodward and Talbot Buck, goalie Julia Hammerschlag, who attends McDonogh, recorded 15 saves in the title game.

Reisterstown residents and Beth Tfiloh students Brooke Gottlieb and Lauren Cohen and Pikesville resident Dani Jacobsen (Krieger-Schecter) complete the team.
