A fundraiser to help Abigail Miller of Shrewsbury, Pa., pay for costs associated with her upcoming bone marrow transplant will be held at New Freedom Community Center on July 9.

Miller, whose husband, Aaron, is a 1995 graduate of Hereford High School, is 26. She was diagnosed with leukemia in October and is currently undergoing chemotherapy. She had to quit her job as a nurse in the cardiac unit at St. Joseph Medical Center after her diagnosis.

The benefit features pit beet, pit turkey and pulled pork, from 3 to 6 p.m. A disk jockey will play from 5 to 10 p.m. and there will be auctions and raffles during the evening.

Tickets are $30 and are available at Troyer's Liquors on York Road in Hereford or by emailing fightingwithabi@gmail.com.
