Head of the Class: North Baltimore county residents earn honors

Jalil Samuel of Parkton, a freshman of Lycoming College, Williamsport, Pa., has been named a member of the Lycoming College Choir. Samuel sings tenor.

Olivia A. Cypull, a senior at Loch Raven High School, has been nominated for National Merit Scholar Semi-Finalist. She is one of 22 students from seven Baltimore County High Schools to qualify.

Mary Velez of Sparks, a senior at Notre Dame Preparatory School, has been recognized as a scholar in the College Board's National Hispanic Recognition Program.
