Breezy, warm weather and bright blue skies greeted visitors to the 13th annual Hereford Fall Festival on Oct. 15 and 16. A steady line of cars kicked up dust as they drove onto a field off Mt. Carmel Road. People sampled wine, ate everything from steamed crabs to bison burgers, listened to music and bought from a variety of vendors.
Kids enjoyed two moon bounces and families went on tractor-drawn wagon rides and monster truck rides.
Festival chairman Tom Ruhl estimated some 13,000 people came out to the Hereford Zone for the festival, which benefits the Hereford Volunteer Fire Company.
"It was very successful. People had fun and I think the vendors were very, very happy," he said.
The Hereford Zone Business Association hosted a hospitality tent where silent auction items and raffles raised almost $10,000. That money goes to Hereford Volunteer Fire Company, Hereford Volunteer Ambulance Company, Hereford Food Bank and North Cluster Food Bank.
