When Swan Harbor Farm event coordinator Karen Tegges helps a couple plan their wedding day, she knows what they'll hear from their guests. "Over and over, I'll hear that the guests told them it was the most beautiful wedding they'd ever been to and ask how they found the place," she says. "They say they never knew it existed."

The 531-acre Havre de Grace farm, which dates to the 1700s, is a public park run by Harford County. The farm overlooks the Chesapeake Bay and, with gorgeous grounds, a tented area and a historic farmhouse, is available for both indoor and outdoor events.

“People come here because it’s a beautiful site by the water, with a casual, relaxed atmosphere,” says Tegges. “And there are so many places to photograph — the water, the barns, the 200-year-old boxwood hedges.”

Best of all, because Swan Harbor is open to the public, reminiscing couples can always stop in for a picnic or quick stroll. “It’s always their special place,” Tegges says.
