Prince George's County Board of Education member Rosalind Johnson, whose district includes Laurel, is hosting a free document-shredding event Saturday, Oct. 8 from 9 a.m. to noon at Laurel High, 8000 Cherry Lane.
Office Paper Systems will shred documents such as personal records and financial data, items often used in cases of identity theft, in a mobile shredding truck. Participants can drop off larger amounts of boxed materials that will be shredded off-site.
Co-hosts for the shredding event are Laurel High PTSA, Laurel High Green Club and International Baccalaureate and JROTC students.
