Residents can voice their thoughts on the proposed Prince George's County redistricting plan at a public hearing this month in Upper Marlboro.
The Prince George's County Redistricting Commission has scheduled the hearing for Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. in the Council hearing room on the first floor of the County Administration Building, 14741 Governor Oden Bowie Drive, in Upper Marlboro. The proposed plan reflects changes made in the redistricting draft maps the commission unveiled at its Aug. 13 public hearing.
Information on the county's web site requests that residents planning to speak at the Sept. 27 hearing should contact the Office of the Clerk of the Council at 301-952-3600 or TDD 301-925-5167 to submit their name, address and telephone number to be placed on the hearing's speaker sign-up form.
Comment or testimony can also be submitted to 2011 Redistricting County Council Public Hearing, c/o Office of the Clerk of the Council, Room 2198, County Administration Building, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772.
The Redistricting Commission presented its proposed 2011 redistricting plan to the County Council on Sept. 1, and commission members will brief the Council on its recommendations Sept. 13.
