Laurel police say an elderly woman was tied up and robbed at gunpoint at an office Wednesday afternoon.
Police were called at about 5 p.m. to a building in the 300 block of Compton Avenue that is split between a law office and a real estate company. The victim, a co-owner of the building whose name and age were not made available, had been tied to a chair in the law office by three men, one armed with a handgun, according to Laurel City spokesman James Collins.
The men soon fled with a small amount of cash and a few checks. Witnesses saw three men run to a compact silver vehicle parked about half a block away before driving off, police said.
The woman was able to get free after about 45 minutes. She was not injured, Collins said.
