Body of Laurel man, 25, found a month after boat capsized in Chesapeake Bay

The body of a Laurel man who went missing after a boating accident last month in the Chesapeake Bay has been recovered.

Tyler Cordrey, 25, was found at about 8 a.m. on the shore in the 2200 block of Chesapeake Harbor Drive in Annapolis, according to Sgt. Art Windemuth of the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.

The Dec. 17 accident, in which a boat capsized north of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge near the Sandy Point lighthouse, left two of the three passengers dead.

Rescuers were called at about 2:45 p.m. that day. They later found Daniel DeNike, 46, and Taylor Rogers, 25, both of Laurel. Both were taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center, where DeNike died. Rogers was treated for hypothermia and released. Cordrey remained missing for nearly a month and had been presumed dead.

All three had been wearing life jackets, Windemuth told WJLA.

DeNike was a quality control manager for Mars Labs on C Street, and formerly operated Electronic Lighting Service on C Street with his father, Ken.

Cordrey was a computer programmer at Mars Labs. His dog, Roscoe, was also lost in the accident.

Memorial services for both men were held in December.
